Introducing…Caitlin Rose Writes

Today, I am officially launching my new brand, Caitlin Rose Writes.

I am bringing my PR acumen, writing chops, and love of storytelling under one shiny, pink umbrella. I will continue to provide public relations services, with a focus on arts and cultural institutions, as well as writing more content and blogs. And, I’m hopeful this will be the digital home for future published children’s books - a passion I am pleased to pursue.

When I had Sutton in 2019, I decided to go out on my own instead of returning to my full-time PR gig. This gave me the flexibility I desperately needed as a new mom and allowed me to be with my baby girl, while keeping my “adult brain” functional. I launched Caitlin Wilson Communications that year, as well as my blog, Mandatory Mom.

Then COVID-19 happened. And then, I had another baby, Winnie, in 2021. Caitlin Wilson Communications was still alive, but barely, and writing my blog fell completely away.

Fast forward to 2023 and I began to really think about where I want to go, and what I want to be when I grow up. Caitlin Wilson Communications was organized very quickly in a postpartum haze, mostly so I had an LLC for government contracts. It served its purpose but I never put a lot of time or energy into the brand, or building it. Ditto for Mandatory Mom.

After a lot of conversations with friends and colleagues, and a lot of soul searching, I realized that what I really want to be is a writer. Public relations, communications, editorial, messaging, blogs, and if I’m really honest, children’s books. I have always dreamed of authoring a children’s book and am finally giving myself the space to try. I’m putting it out into the digital universe to hold me accountable!

I love stories, telling them, hearing them, reading them, sharing them. I am a modern-day storyteller and this is where I will be sharing mine.
